Our Services

DESIGN DEPARTMENT

The design department of our company is primarily focused on nuclear energy, as evidenced by its decisive role in engineering activities for the ongoing project "Completion of Units 3 and 4 of the Mochovce NPP, Slovak Republic." The project has been running continuously since 2009, and in addition to engineering activities, our employees have secured all deliveries of new equipment (apparatus, piping, pipe components, valves, pumps, steel structures) for emergency and auxiliary systems and radioactive waste processing operations. The designers are generally focused on projects in the field of mechanical technology design (piping systems, including mounting and supporting steel structures, pressure and non-pressure vessels, tanks, and apparatuses), including anchoring to the structure and steel structures. Designers then process production documentation for all mechanical technology based on the project. An integral part of our company's work consists of on-site inspections, including the processing of measured data and creation of as-built documentation.

Great comfort to customers is provided by 3D software design, which enables easy orientation in designed technological systems and simple tracking of their changes or modifications. KP SAG primarily uses PDMS and E3D software.

In addition, the company also has extensive experience in traditional energy, where it participated, for example, in the construction of two new boilers at Synthesia, a.s. - "Green Meadow" heating plant in Pardubice, delivery of new turbines for energy centers of Lovochemie Lovosice and Bukóza Energo, a.s. - Hencovce, and the reconstruction of two units of the Chvaletice coal power plant, retrofits of the Tušimice, Ledvice, and Prunéřov coal power plants, and the construction of a new steam-gas unit at the Počerady power plant.

Another industrial sector in which our company has extensive experience is the chemical industry. In cooperation with renowned domestic and international partners, we are able to deliver equipment based on open (free), custom, or licensed technologies. Among the key equipment forming the basis of chemical-technological processes, we supply especially heat exchangers, vertical storage tanks, process tanks, extractors, evaporators, and mixing equipment.

The company has many reference projects in this area, namely Diamo NDS 6, Diamo NDS 10, Slovnaft Bratislava, Česká rafinérská, Lovochemie, RCTR Nelahozeves, etc. (see KP SAG References).

An essential component of the design team is a group working in the field of water management, not only wastewater treatment plants but also water treatment plants.

  • Wastewater treatment plants have been delivered to Czech and foreign customers since 1957. Business activities in environmental protection are focused on wastewater treatment plants construction from both the municipal and industrial sectors in accordance with Czech and EU legislation. Wastewater treatment plants utilize physical, chemical, or biological treatment technologies depending on the nature of the water produced, with a treatment capacity of 500 –  170,000 PE. Projects now routinely include the use of membrane technologies for tertiary treatment.
  • Groundwater and surface water treatment plants are always designed based on local conditions, treatment requirements, and the intended purpose of use. These include block and mobile water treatment plants (capacity up to 5 l/s), modular water treatment plants (capacity up to 80 l/s), and large water treatment plants (capacity up to 3,000 l/s).

STRESS ANALYSIS DEPARTMENT

The stress analysis department of our company is directly connected with its other engineering activities and provides them with highly professional capability to assess dynamic and static stress of any designed component. For our customers, we perform design, static (linear and nonlinear), dynamic, seismic, and stability analyses; fatigue assessments including evaluation of residual service life; temperature field analyses; as well as studies of special problems such as contact phenomena, fluid–elastic interactions, fracture mechanics, and vibration of tall slender structures and chimneys in wind, including damper design. KP SAG employees are capable of performing these activities not only in accordance with EN standards, but also NTD, ASME, ANSI, RTM, GOST, and KTA standards.

In terms of target components or technological units, the above calculations most often concern piping systems including supports and supporting steel structures, pressure vessels, apparatus and tanks of any shape, type, and size, including anchoring, supporting steel structures and platforms, cranes, lifting equipment and assembly aids, valves, and flange connections.

As with project design, the main group of customers consists of companies operating in the nuclear energy sector in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. However, the KP SAG calculation department also provides services for conventional energy, chemistry and petrochemistry, or water management.

The calculation department has a wide range of specialized software developed for individual components. KP SAG employees use PVElite or PVESS for equipment and tanks, JAPAR, STAPAR, and Caesar II for piping, SCIA Engineering for steel structures, and ANSYS for FEA systems.

In addition to standard orders related to strength calculations, KP SAG employees are able to carry out highly specialized individual work in the field of R&D. In connection with life-extension programs for various equipment or components, these include managed aging programs that clearly define the new investment horizon for the given equipment. Even more complicated are projects related to probabilistic models in strength calculations. As an example, we can mention the "Analysis of piping component sensitivity to material substitution", in which the maximum sensitivity coefficient method was used. This analysis was prepared for the Nuclear Regulatory Authority of the Slovak Republic in connection with its decision to commission Unit 3 of the Mochovce NPP.

IMPLEMENTATION DEPARTMENT

The implementation department of our company was established in 2018 in connection with the need to take over the competence for technological unit implementation from the former parent company. KP SAG employees completed the technological part of Phase II of the modernization of the Jedovnice WWTP (5500 PE).
Another implementation project was the modernization of the chlorine leak mitigation system in Stráž pod Ralskem for DIAMO s.p., carried out from October 2020 to November 2021. The total value of this project, which included the supply of the construction part, electrical and I&C systems, and the technological part including a titanium column, was CZK 47 million.
Our staff are preparing further projects for 2026 as part of the life-extension of the Dukovany NPP.
